Hoopers Dog Training in

Swindon, Cirencester and Surrounding Villages

Canine Hoopers is a gentle and low-impact dog sport where your dog learns to move through hoops, tunnels and around obstacles in flowing, smooth patterns. It’s suitable for dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages, making it a wonderful way to build confidence, focus and connection while having fun together. Classes are relaxed, supportive and designed to help your dog feel happy, capable and understood.

What Is Canine Hoopers?

Hoopers is all about smooth, flowing movement rather than jumping or high-speed impact. Your dog learns to follow your cues through hoops and around cones in calm, easy patterns. It’s playful, confidence-boosting and rewarding for dogs who enjoy working with their human — without the need for physical strain.

A Low-Impact Sport for All Dogs

Because Hoopers is gentle on joints and focuses on communication, it’s perfect for young dogs, older dogs, small dogs, larger dogs and everything in between. Your dog can work at a pace that feels right for them — no pressure, no rushing.

Why Hoopers Is Wonderful for Confidence

Hoopers helps dogs learn to listen, think and stay engaged with you, even when they’re excited. It’s excellent for building confidence, strengthening your bond and supporting calm focus in everyday life.

What We Do in Class

Classes include:

  • Learning simple, positive directional cues

  • Introducing hoops, tunnels and smooth movement around cones

  • Celebrating progress, however small

  • Working in a gentle, structured and fun environment

Everything is taught using reward-based, supportive methods — no force, no pressure, just encouragement.

Who Hoopers Is Suitable For

Hoopers is particularly lovely for:

  • Puppies and young dogs (after basic life skills)

  • Nervous or sensitive dogs

  • Dogs who benefit from confidence-building

  • Older dogs who need low-impact exercise

  • Dogs who enjoy gentle teamwork

  • Anyone who wants the same adrenaline as agility with less running about for the handler!

  • Whether you’re looking for a new challenge or just want to have fun together, Hoopers is a fantastic way to enjoy quality time with your dog.

  • Who Can Join?

Puppies can start learning Hoopers from just 16 weeks old, it’s a great way to build early skills and confidence. They’ll need to be 6 months old to enter competitions, but training early means they’ll be ready when the time comes.

Class Details & How to Join

I run small, group classes of 3 to 4 dogs to ensure that everyone gets individual attention.  These last approximately 45 minutes.

I also offer 1 to 1 lessons in case the class times do not suit you or you prefer the individual attention.  These last approximately 30 minutes.

We can accommodate dogs that find group situations a challenge, just let us know.
